Here’s What to Do When Your Furnace Won’t Ignite
We are getting through the last several weeks of winter but we still need our furnaces, especially during cold nights. Not much is worse than going to bed at night just to find out your furnace won’t turn on. If this happens to you, here are a few things you can check yourself before calling A1 Chesney Service Experts.
Check Air Filters
You should change standard air filters every 30 days. If you fail to do so, they can become clogged, restricting air flow and resulting in your furnace malfunctioning.
Check Your Thermostat
Start by turning the thermostat up a few degrees to get the furnace to turn on. If the actual room temperature is higher than the thermostat, the furnace won’t run. Also, confirm the system switch is on “heat” or “auto.”
Check the Power
It may seem silly, but verify the power switch next to the heating equipment is “On.” Even gas heating equipment uses electricity so confirm the breaker has not tripped and that the power switch has not been accidently moved to the “Off” position.
If you check all these things and your furnace will still not start up, give A1 Chesney Service Experts a call at 587-315-5271 and we’ll come out and take care of you as soon as possible.
