The Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning Headquarters Office in Plano, TX was honored to contribute more than 320 pounds of food to Minnie’s Food Pantry, also located in Plano.
“Last September, I had the opportunity to get a group together to volunteer at Minnie’s and it was such an amazing experience,” said Amanda Wilson, Operations Specialist for Service Experts. “They go above and beyond providing food – they are a crucial part of this community.”
Minnie’s Food Pantry was created by Cheryl Jackson as a way to honor her mother, Minnie Hawthorne-Ewing D.D., who spent many of her childhood years wondering if and where she would receive her next meal. In addition to providing meals to families in need, Minnie’s also holds classes to teach families how to utilize the food they receive to create nutritious, long-lasting meals. They also provide resume support along with money-management and job classes to help families get back on their feet.
Since the families receive approximately 50 pounds of food to get them through the month, Service Experts was able to feed six families for the month.
“All the team members were so thrilled that we had this food drive for Minnie’s Food Pantry, and they even took time to show us their awesome facility,” Wilson said.
