Painting Vans Pink in the Fight Against Breast Cancer

September 27, 2016

In October 2016, two Service Experts centers will be turning heads with pink vans. Fras-Air/General Service Experts and Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning of Raleigh are both painting two of their company vans pink for the fight cure breast cancer.

During the month of October, Fras-Air/General Service Experts will be contributing 20% of all sales from their pink vans to their local Susan G. Komen chapter to help raise money to help end breast cancer. Service Experts of Raleigh will be donating 5% of all sales from their pink vans and also donate $10 for every furnace tune-up to their local chapter, Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast.

This is the second October Fras-Air/General Service Experts has painted two of their vans pink to fundraise for this great cause. In 2015, Fras-Air donated over $7,000 to Komen North Jersey. David Schneider, the general manager and one of his technicians both lost their mothers to different forms of cancer and were inspired to help other families.

“The National Cancer Institute says that 107,184 women in New Jersey had breast cancer in 2016,” Schneider stated. “While the number of cases is actually going down each year, that still represents a large number of families who are grappling with this disease, and that means there’s an urgent need for research and support.”

Chris Overton, the General Manager for Service Experts of Raleigh, seconded Schneider’s feelings. “According to the North Carolina State Center for Health Statistics, breast cancer is the leading type of cancer in North Carolina – for women and men.”
